The Vision
The Hunger Solution Center expansion project aims to significantly increase capacity for food storage, distribution, and community outreach through the addition of modern facilities and expanded infrastructure. This comprehensive initiative will enable the center to serve more families in need, reduce food insecurity, and foster sustainable solutions to hunger in the community while enhancing efficiency and accessibility.
The expansion project features two major facilities - a Drive-Up Meal Service Hub and Distribution Center - which will house extensive infrastructure improvements including expanded kitchen facilities, enhanced cold storage, modernized loading docks, and dedicated spaces for food preparation, education, and community wellness programs.
Kitchen & Service Area:
• Double meal prep capacity with upgraded equipment
• Add drive-through meal service point
• Triple cold storage with separate protein/produce areas
• Expand dry goods storage space
• Add educational kitchen
• Create wellness & donation center
Operations and Infrastructure:
• Install loading dock
• Implement pallet storage system
• Expand cold storage for forklift access
• Add food repackaging area
• Enhance truck parking washing area
• Update utility systems
• Replace roof
